There is a wild and playful place inside that longs to find expression. Dare to journey to a place where untold gifts and surprises await you. Whether beginner or experienced artist you will be challenged to explore new places that will bring you closer to what is truly yours. Embrace the unknown while creating your own authentic art. There is nothing to accomplish....no place to get to....nothing to fix! Creative expression, the ebb and flow of souls footprints, belongs to all. Give yourself permission and you will discover the power and joy of the creative process!
Do negative stories and beliefs keep you from expressing yourself creatively?
Do critical voices stop you in your tracks when you think about painting, or writing, or dancing?
Have you been longing to use painting to express yourself creatively but find yourself fearful of the next step?
What if you didn't have to know how to paint? What if no one would ever see it? What if you could paint only for yourself?
I believe that creativity is a life force, a process, a way of living one’s life. It is not a piece of art and has no final destination. Intuitive painting is a way of entering into the present moment, moving spontaneously, without a plan. It can ignite passion and reconnect one with a powerful sense of freedom and joy. Process painting is a wonderful way to experience your unique creative voice.
Letting go of the demands and expectations of a finished product with "expected" results opens us to the true freedom of the creative process.
Moving spontaneously deepens trust in the intuitive process
Learning to enter into the unknown, without a plan, strengthens this “muscle” and develops more comfort in navigating the unknown waters of life.
Creative energy overflows into other aspects of life and opens awareness to imagining new possibilities.
Process painting teaches awareness skills and provides new tools to work with judgments and stories with more awareness and compassion.
Process painting offers a powerful vehicle for personal development through self-expression, self-exploration, and self-awareness.
Creativity is healing and has been shown to decrease stress and move people into a state of relaxation, not unlike meditation and prayer.
A story shared with me by a student touched my heart and spoke to the journey of spontaneous painting. A 7 year old boy paused for a minute stating he didn't know how to paint what it was he was wanted to paint. 'What if you didn't have to know how to paint it' he was asked? 'What if you could invent it for yourself?' His response,,,'then everything you paint would be alive!"
Interview I did in late February with Adult Placement Services discussing intuitive painting.
Elizabeth Gilbert delightfully speaks about this as she shares the radical idea that, instead of the rare person "being" a genius, all of us "have" a genius. It's a funny, personal and surprisingly moving talk.

"The intuitive mind is a sacred gift and the rational mind is a faithful servant. We have created a society that honors the servant and has forgotten the gift."
Albert Einstein

Intuitive painting offers opportunities for:
Those wanting to explore their creativity but unsure of how to begin. Take back what the culture has taken away and embrace your creative heritage.
Those engaged in healing work. The creative blocks encountered offer wonderful insights and experiences that can support and catalyze life changes and healing.
Artists. Having the opportunity to create in a safe environment free of the pressure of product and judgment can help overcome "blocks", challenge convention, and rekindle creative flow. Remember what called you to the creative journey before all the rules, structure, and galleries.
Spiritual Seekers. the process asks that you stay present, trust, and open to the mystery of your being. It is truly an active meditation.
Those healing from and living with physical illness. Creativity, as with meditation, has been shown to decrease stress and offers opportunities for emotional expression and release.

"Every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once he grows up."
Pablo Picasso
